Mostar Train Station
For the past few years, number of people in Bosnia and Herzegovina travelling by train increased rapidly. Also, more and more tourists visiting Mostar travel by train. There are two reasons for that. First, old trains were replaced with new ones, a high quality Talgo trains. They are comfortable, air-conditioned, have free WiFi, and prices are reasonable as well. For example, you will pay ticket from Mostar to Sarajevo 5-8 €, depending on class. Two-way ticket costs from 8.5 – 12.5 €. You can also get a discount if you are a group over 6 people. So, traveling by train is not only affordable, but highly enjoyable as well.
And that’s the second reason many tourists choose train ride. When you’re travelling from Mostar to Sarajevo by train you will experience beautiful scenery. Amazing canyon of river Neretva, high mountains, green hills and forests are all part of this two-hour journey.
Mostar Train Station is located just next to Main Bus Station, on street Trg Ivana Krndelja 1.
Timetable
Line Čapljina (small city close to border with Croatia) – Mostar – Sarajevo, runs 3 times a day:
- Čapljina ( 6.16 am ) – Mostar ( 6.43 am ) – Sarajevo ( 8.41 am )
- Čapljina ( 4.35 pm ) – Mostar ( 5.02 pm ) – Sarajevo ( 6.56 pm ) *
- Capljina ( 7.25 pm ) – Mostar ( 7.52 pm ) – Sarajevo ( 9.44 pm ) **
*doesn’t drive between June 14th and September 1st
**only drives between June 15th and August 31st

Line Sarajevo – Mostar – Čapljina runs twice a day:
- Sarajevo ( 7.07 am ) – Mostar ( 9.00 am ) – Čapljina ( 9.29 am )
- Sarajevo ( 4.50 pm ) – Mostar ( 6.45 pm ) – Čapljina ( 7.14 pm )

From Sarajevo you can connect with other bigger cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, like Banja Luka, Tuzla, Zenica and Bihać.
