\nIf you want\u00a0 to come and visit Mostar<\/strong> from Dubrovnik<\/strong>, you can take a bus<\/strong> and you will need a 3 hours pleasant ride and enjoyable sightseeing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
You can also take a rent-a-car<\/strong>, in that case, we recommend\u00a0 you to cross the Ivanica<\/strong> border\u00a0<\/strong> and\u00a0 visit another beautiful Herzegovina town of Trebinje<\/strong>. When crossing the Ivanica border in the peak season, be aware of possible long lines.<\/span>You should not go through Trebinje unless you have visited Arslanagi\u0107a Bridge<\/strong> and have a drink in the most famous city cafe Hotel\u00a0Platani<\/strong>. On the way to Trebinje you can find some really good restaurants, in the city of Trebinje, like\u00a0Drijen, Studenac and Stara Hercegovina.<\/span><\/p>\n The road from Trebinje to Mostar leads through Ljubinje<\/strong> and Stolac<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/strong>You can stop to relax or visit Radimlja<\/strong> <\/a>and Daorson<\/strong><\/a>, the former capital of the <\/span>Hellenistic Illyrian tribe Daorsi<\/strong>, who once lived in the <\/span>Neretva valley<\/strong>. After about two hours of pleasant ride through southern Herzegovina you will arrive in Mostar.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The fastest route<\/strong> from\u00a0Dubrovnik to Mostar is Dubrovnik \u2013 Neum<\/strong> \u2013 Opuzen – Metkovi\u0107 \u2013 \u010capljina \u2013 Mostar.\u00a0The road is in great condition, as most of it has been recently reconstructed. Over half length of the trip you will drive through beautiful Dubrovnik riviera<\/strong>. As you drive, you will enjoy beautiful<\/strong> panorama, with plenty of rest stops and lookouts by the road. We recommend<\/a> taking this route outside the peak<\/strong>\u00a0season (20.7. \u2013 20.8.).\u00a0Why you might ask?\u00a0 Because when you take the trip from Dubrovnik to Mostar, in tight area of Neum you need to take three<\/strong> border crossing points<\/strong>. In the peak season, 4 km lines can be formed, and the average waiting time can rise up to 3 hours. If you want to take the route anyway, we recommend<\/a> to hit the road in the early morning hours (6 am \u2013 7 am), or late at evening (11 pm \u2013 12pm). <\/span><\/p>\n There is also an\u00a0alternative<\/strong> to both Ivanica<\/strong> and Neum borders. It is a local<\/strong> border crossing point called \u010cepiku\u0107e<\/strong>, unfamiliar to most of the tourists. It is usually used by locals, and there is a small chance you’ll have to wait long to cross it. If you decide to take this crossing point, be cautious<\/strong>. Get well informed<\/strong> which roads you need to take. Also bear in mind that this border is used mostly by locals, so there aren’t many road signs<\/strong>. The roads are also in not very good condition like on the two main routes.<\/span><\/p>\n Check\u00a0Google Map Road<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n If you are coming to Mostar from Sarajevo<\/strong>, you will need two hours of joyful<\/strong> ride heading south.\u00a0<\/span>After one hour of driving amid the green hills, you’ll enter the small town of Konjic<\/strong>. Konjic is unofficially considered the place where Bosnia meets<\/strong> Herzegovina. It is the ‘AND’ in ‘Bosnia and Herzegovina’. And the exact spot,\u00a0that connects Bosnia with Herzegovina, is believed to be Stara \u0106uprija Bridge<\/strong>. It is one of the finest bridges<\/strong> from Ottoman period in Bosnia and Herzegovina, built in 1682. You shouldn’t leave Konjic before seeing It.<\/p>\n After heading\u00a0 further to the south, you will pass the beautiful scenery and enjoy the beauty\u00a0of <\/span>Jablanica Lake<\/strong> surrounded by high mountains. If you <\/span>feel hungry<\/strong> you can pull over near small picturesque town called Jablanica<\/strong>. When you decide to stop you will see dozens of small, open air\u00a0 <\/span>restaurants se<\/strong>rving grilled lamb.<\/strong> Eating outside in the fresh air is something that you should not miss. By the way, you can buy a fresh trout nearby. While you’re there you should also visit Museum ‘Battle for the Wounded on Neretva’<\/strong>. It is a museum dedicated to ‘Battle of Neretva’<\/strong> in World War II<\/strong>. Next to it is a famous bridge, which was blown up for the purposes of making a movie of the same name. It was the most expensive movie made in ex Yugoslavia.<\/span><\/p>\n Once you leave Jablani<\/span>ca, you’ll enjoy scenic ride down to the south, through the canyon of Neretva<\/strong>. If you’re not taking a road trip, then we would highly recommend taking a train ride<\/strong>. It is an amazing two-hour journey that you’ll definitely remember. Sitting back in a modern and comfortable train while enjoying breathtaking scenery, from green hills, forests, mountains, lakes, rivers and canyons – is really a trip you don’t wanna miss.<\/span><\/p>\n Check\u00a0Google Map Road<\/a><\/p>\n Now you‘ve finally arrived to Mostar. It<\/span>\u00a0is a town illuminated by the light, the positive<\/a> energy<\/strong> and hospitality<\/strong> that is felt in every citizen.<\/p>\n Mostar is a city of bridges<\/strong>. That\u00a0old m<\/span>an, I mean<\/span> Old bridge<\/strong><\/a>, you\u00a0 can not pass-by . In this city you will be able to meet and gather with positive\u00a0<\/span>people.<\/p>\n To enjoy good food is enough to stay in the old town center because there you can really find the best food<\/strong>, from\u00a0 vegetarian offer in the A\u0161\u010dinica Balkan<\/strong>, to\u00a0 traditional Bosnian cuisine<\/strong> at\u00a0 \u0160adrvan<\/strong> restaurant, and of course fantastic barbecue offer in Hindin Han<\/strong> .<\/p>\n Hindin Han\u00a0 is the best restaurant, in our humble opinion. Maybe cats will bother you for I while, but they are all pets friendly<\/a> you know.\u00a0 You can relax while you eat and listen Radobolja river<\/strong> eagerly wants to connect with Neretva. Meet many people from all over the world\u00a0 trying to compete with\u00a0 Mostar’s cobblestone<\/strong>, and yet nobody is bothered and no one is tense or nervous, they are all waiting to see what’s still hidden in narrow streets.<\/p>\n You can spend pleasant evenings in the Black Dog Pub<\/strong><\/a>, a great place for younger people<\/strong><\/a> with live music, enjoying rock, gypsy, jazz<\/strong>, fado<\/strong> or something else equally fantastic. They have excellent beer selection<\/strong>, I always choose\u00a0 craft because it’s better, different.<\/p>\n If you still don‘<\/span>t want to go home, you have more energy, there is a nightclub<\/strong> <\/a>in the cave<\/strong>, called Ali Baba<\/strong>. DJ‘<\/span>s are in charge of your getaway to early morning hours.
