The main attraction is the Old Town, built in 7th<\/strong> century<\/strong>, with an amazing history. But the result of everything mentioned, is a mass tourism. Almost\u00a02 million<\/strong> tourists\u00a0visits Dubrovnik yearly . That is immense number of people, especially if taken into account that Dubrovnik is a small<\/strong> city. It has the area of 21,35 km\u00b2, and population of 42.615 people.<\/p>\n

Dubrovnik is very well connected with all the mayor\u00a0airports<\/strong>\u00a0in Europe, and other continents as well. For example, flight from London or Frankfurt lasts about 2-3 hours. This makes it pretty handy<\/a> to reach, therefore making it one of the most popular<\/strong> tourist destinations in Europe.<\/p>\n

But, it is less known that in the peak season, Dubrovnik gets incredibly crowded<\/strong>. All places in Old Town are jam-packed with curious tourists, <\/strong>and it’s very usual<\/strong> situation that entrance to Old Town gets clogged.<\/p>\n

Is there an alternative to overcrowded Dubrovnik?<\/span><\/h1>\n

It is, in touristic means, relatively undiscovered\u00a0<\/a>gem<\/strong> called Mostar<\/a>. It is located in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it’s great alternative to Dubrovnik, merely two hours<\/strong> drive from it.<\/p>\n

You will need two hours drive from Mostar<\/a> to each of these destinations. Mostar also has a solid airline connection<\/strong>, with Germany, Croatia and Italy mainly.<\/p>\n

Apartment<\/a> for 4 persons costs around 40\u20ac<\/strong>\/per night, and you can have a good meal for 5\u20ac<\/strong>. So for the same price you would pay 2-3 nights in perhaps Dubrovnik<\/a> or Split, you will pay apartment in Mostar for 7 nights, and still have a great<\/strong> time!<\/p>\n
