Restaurant Šadrvan
Restaurant that embodies a true spirit of Mostar
Visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina will leave your trip sketchy if you did not try the domestic cuisine. In the heart of Old Town in Mostar, 30 meters from the Old Bridge you can find the beautiful traditional restaurant with a lovely parterre – “Šadrvan”. Ladies in national costumes will give you a warm welcome and will find a suitable table for every guest. Of course, among the tasteful local food like sarma, čevapčići, japrak that everyone should try, there is a wide choice of barbecue, vegetable meals, Croatian and Turkish cuisine, traditional coffee and juices. Besides this, there is a variety of deserts.
The staff serves in national costumes. Music that you can hear in the background is traditional Bosnian music called “sevdah“. This traditional restaurant represents a perfect spot if you want to feel the true mostarian spirit. Surrounded by Ottoman architecture ( tower Halebija, mosques,
handcraft stores, patisseries) it offers a pretty amazing location combined with a good national food. Also, right across the Šadrvan, you can find the stairs that lead you on the plain under the Old Bridge with an amazing view of the green river Neretva. If you’re lucky, there is a good chance of spotting a traditional dive from the Old Bridge.
Due to its location, ambience and quality traditional food, restaurant Šadrvan is one of the most popular restaurants among tourists. Sometimes it might get crowded, but it should definitely be on your list if visiting Mostar!
