Full description
This tour is specially designed for those willing and ready to expose their senses to the new knowledge and those who are interested in opening their hearts and accepting different customs and traditions without having any barriers.
During this full day tour starting from Dubrovnik, Croatia, you shall witness geographical diversity while driving from the coast (Dubrovnik, Mokošica, Trsteno, Slano) towards the inland (Zavala, Ravno, Ljubinje, Stolac) all the way down to beautiful city of Mostar.
Once you arrive to Mostar, your guide will wait for you to start this unique experience tour of Mostar city. While walking down the streets of charming Mostar, you shall be provided with details and facts about the war, importance of certain streets during the 90`s war, and your guide shall take you places where important events took place. Basically, you shall witness war sights from first hand, right there on the spot. Then, you shall be taken to places not many people had visited, like the inside of the Old Bridge towers, important mosques etc.
Once the walking tour is over, you`ll get your lesson and class on how to prepare traditional bread called “Somun” in a way that each one from your private will prepare its own traditional meal of the local lower class (Somun and kajmak). After this short workshop, your guide is taking you to chillax a bit in one of our favorite coffee shops, where you shall be given instructions and class on how to prepare your unique Bosnian coffee. Since coffee tradition had a tremendous impact on everyday life, we guarantee this workshop is the most important highlight during your full day visit to Mostar. Also, if you are not a coffee lover-don`t worry, you`ll find your satisfaction in one of our best hand made juices and hand-picked mountain teas from Mostar`s surrounding mountains.
Once you`re done with gaining and accepting this cultural highlight, you have an option to go to restaurant and to taste a bit of everything that makes Bosnian cuisine a unique experience (mixed platter of traditional dishes). Then, around 16:30, your driver will do the pickup at the same place where you were dropped-off to take you back to Dubrovnik. Since the idea of this tour is to make you feel locally special, we won`t rush you. Because of that, you shall have 30min break at a medieval town of Počitelj, that also has some special treats for your soul and belly like fresh hand-squeezed pomegranate juice that you shall enjoy in whilst having a short hike up towards the hill fort of Počitelj.
Then, a car will be cooled of and prepared for you to be sleepy while driving down the road towards Dubrovnik. At this time, sunset should be turned on in order for you to enjoy the views over the islands of Adriatic while descending from the mountains towards the coast. Once you reach the coast, you`re only 30min away from your accommodation in Dubrovnik. Suggestion is to wear casual clothing because the whole day is designed to be relaxed and casual.
